Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using Type Shifter ("the Application", "the Service", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using Type Shifter, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Type Shifter, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Application.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Application after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
2. Description of Service
Type Shifter is a text transformation application that converts unformatted text into styled, formatted documents. Key features include:
- Multiple professional style templates for document formatting
- Bionic Reading technology to enhance reading speed and comprehension
- OpenDyslexic font support for users with dyslexia
- Dark mode for reduced eye strain
- Export functionality to HTML, DOCX, EPUB, and PDF formats
- Support for multiple input formats including TXT, RTF, DOCX, PDF, MD, EPUB, and HTML
All text processing occurs locally on your device. Your content is never transmitted to external servers.
3. Free Trial and Premium Subscription
Free Trial: New users receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. The trial period begins upon first use of the Application and cannot be paused or extended.
Premium License: After the trial period, continued use requires a one-time payment of £9.99 for a lifetime Premium license. The Premium license grants unlimited access to all current and future features for the lifetime of the product.
Refund Policy: Due to the digital nature of the product and the provision of a free trial, all purchases are final. We encourage users to fully evaluate the Application during the trial period before purchasing.
4. User Content and Intellectual Property
Your Content: You retain all rights to any text, documents, or other content you process through Type Shifter ("User Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights to your User Content.
Our Intellectual Property: Type Shifter, including its design, features, code, graphics, logos, and all related intellectual property, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on our intellectual property without explicit written permission.
Feedback: Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide regarding the Application may be used by us without any obligation to compensate you.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Type Shifter only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
- Use the Application in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Process content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Application
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the Application to process content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
- Share, transfer, or resell your Premium license to third parties
6. Privacy and Data
Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we handle data. In summary:
- All text processing occurs locally on your device
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your documents or personal data
- Minimal usage data is stored locally on your device for functionality purposes
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
TYPE SHIFTER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
We do not warrant that the Bionic Reading feature will improve reading speed or comprehension for all users. Results may vary based on individual factors.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.
Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Application shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Premium license.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Type Shifter and its creators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Application, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of third parties.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Application at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Application shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
13. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Type Shifter regarding your use of the Application and supersede any prior agreements.
